Congestion from oils, dirt, and pollutants is often the cause of blemishes. Environ has specially formulated this gel cleanser to battle the build-up and unclog your pores without drying out or irritating your skin, paving the way to smoothed and soothed skin with a radiant clarity.
What are the benefits of Environ Sebu-Wash?
Environ Clarity+ Botanical Infused Sebu-Wash Gel Cleanser is designed to gently exfoliate, removing excess oils and environmental debris to leave your pores clear. It does this without disrupting the natural acid balance of your skin, while also restoring hydration by boosting your skin’s moisture absorption.
It has a faint scent caused by the tea tree oil it contains, but the cleanser doesn’t cause the stinging or burning sensations you might expect from tea tree products. Rather than increasing sensitivity, it leaves your skin pleasantly refreshed and thoroughly cleansed, ready for applying moisturiser.
Best men’s face wash for oily skin and pimples
Environ Sebu-Wash Gel Cleanser is suitable for both men and women of all ages. It’s ideal for oily skin because it helps to absorb and remove the excessive oils that contribute to this state. Its gentle ingredients and mattifying effects mean that your skin should feel soft and balanced after using Sebu-Wash, without feeling dried out, irritated, or clogged up.
How does the Sebu-Wash Gel Cleanser work?
Oiliness occurs when sebaceous glands in the skin produce too much natural oil, known as sebum. Dihydroxy testosterone, or DHT, is the hormone responsible for sebum production. Over-production usually happens as a result of overly-sensitive DHT receptors, causing an excessively oily skin surface.
The Sebu-Wash Cleanser (yes, the name comes from ‘sebum’) tackles this problem using sarcosine and salicylic acid. When you first see the name sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, alarm bells might start ringing because it sounds like the infamously astringent sodium lauryl sulphate, but it’s different!
Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate is like a milder version, derived from the amino acid sarcosine. Not only is it a foaming agent, but it’s also a surfactant, meaning that it can lift liquid oils and solid dirt from the skin. This ingredient binds and removes both oil-based and water-based compounds from your pores.
Face wash containing salicylic acid
A BHA (beta hydroxy acid) is also brought in to add some exfoliating power. Unlike AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) with larger molecules, salicylic acid has molecules that are small enough to penetrate further into the pores, making it much more effective at unclogging them. This makes it helpful for blackheads, while its anti-inflammatory properties make it suitable for soothing acne and rosacea.
Antibacterial face cleanser
For even more anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory action, melaleuca alternifolia leaf oil can speed up wound healing and prevent further infection from bacteria. Better known as tea tree oil (TTO), it comes from the leaves of the melaleuca alternifolia tree and also has antiviral and antifungal effects. In diluted form, it contains minimal allergens, and is safe to apply directly to the skin in this antibacterial face cleanser.
Finally, to keep the skin moist and avoid activating sebum production in response to dehydration, this cleanser also contains glycerin. It’s the humble star of many a skincare product, a safe and effective humectant that draws and traps water, also strengthening the natural skin barrier.
All in all, the Environ Sebu-Wash Gel Cleanser takes a multi-pronged approach to break down the substances congesting your pores, remove them without stripping moisture, reduce inflammation, and decreases sebum production, improving texture and appearance and preventing breakouts.
Is Environ Sebu-Wash Cleanser suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes, this product is not only suitable for sensitive skin, but it has actually been scientifically engineered to help soothe it. Anyone with oily, breakout prone skin, or those suffering from acne or congested pores will benefit from the mattifying and skin calming effects of this foaming face wash. It helps to gently remove any excess surface oils, dirt and makeup, without drying out or irritating your skin.
Environ Sebu-Wash Cleanser does, however, contain salicylic acid, so if you’re allergic to this ingredient then you should not use this product.
More information about Environ Sebu-Wash Cleanser
Formerly known as Environ B-Active Sebuwash, this reformulated version comes in a 150ml tube, with a shelf life of 10-12 weeks once you’ve broken the seal. It’s designed for use 1-2 times a day, morning and night, for people with a variety of oily, inflamed, and blemish-prone skin concerns.
All skin types can use the Botanical Infused Sebu-Wash Gel Cleanser to tackle congested pores, but it’s especially beneficial for super-oily and acne-prone skin. If you experience breakouts less often, you can make use of the Botanical Infused Sebu-Spot Blemish Gel to target specific problem areas.
After cleansing with this face wash and toning with the matching Botanical Infused Sebu-Tone Clarifier on a regular basis, you should notice smaller pores, less texture, and reduced shine to your skin. This results in a much-improved appearance overall, which will also increase your confidence.
Not only can this product help you to feel more comfortable in your skin and less self-conscious about blemishes and redness, but it can also help your makeup to look better and last for longer. Say goodbye to melting foundation, clumping, and the dreaded sweaty forehead and shiny nose look.

1) Dampen your skin with warm or tepid water.
2) Apply a small amount of the cleanser into the palm of your hand.
3) Massage your palms together gently until the product lathers up into a foam.
4) Apply the mild foam to your face and neck and massage all over for 60 seconds.
5) Rinse off thoroughly with warm water and pat the skin dry gently with a clean towel.
6) Follow up with a toner, such as Sebu-Tone Clarifier, then moisturisers and serums.
If you experience a stinging sensation or prolonged irritation, cease using the cleanser and consult your dermatologist or GP before attempting to use it again. Do not allow children to use BHAs.
Do not use more than twice a day. Not suitable for use at all if you have an aspirin allergy.
