Environ is a globally established skincare brand, whose products are carefully formulated to bridge the gap between beauty and science in the cosmeceutical industry. First developed over 30 years ago by a world-renowned cosmetic surgeon, Environ is now a world leader in professional skincare.

The potent formulas contain a range of active ingredients to nourish, protect, and rejuvenate the skin. Environ skincare tends to focus on the restorative power of Vitamin A, but it often incorporates a variety of vitamins, antioxidants, peptides, and botanical extracts to repair environmental damage.

As we only supply the best products at The Skin Clinic Direct, it’s not surprising that we’re an authorised stockist of Environ skincare. We’re proud to provide these high-quality Environ products for all ages, genders, and skin types, helping you to achieve the glowing skin that you deserve.

Why is Environ such a prestigious skincare brand?

The Environ brand is the brainchild of a highly accredited aesthetic surgeon from South Africa, Dr Des Fernandes. In his line of work, he frequently came across cases of irreparable sun damage, and sought to find a preventative skincare solution to address the harmful effects of free radicals.

This resulted in the brand’s emphasis on Vitamin A skincare. This cornerstone ingredient, plus varying blends of other powerful actives, is scientifically proven to perform the crucial work of defending the skin against damaging UV radiation, environmental pollution, and physical stress.

Premium Environ skincare allows you to benefit from salon-quality treatments at home, achieving optimal results with relatively little effort. The extensive range of Environ collections allows you to build an effective skincare routine with everything you need to address a particular skin concern.

As an award-winning international brand, the Environ Vitamin A Step-Up System in particular has been given the stamp of approval by the Swiss Vitamin Institute. Not only has Environ won the ‘Top Medical Skincare’ award for several years running at the Aesthetic and Cosmetic Medicine Awards, but Aesthetic Everything also crowned it the ‘Top Medical Skincare of the Decade’ in 2021 – so you know you’re getting premium skincare products with Environ.

Need a consultation as a first-time Environ skincare user?

As most Environ products contain active ingredients, it’s important to discuss your skin type and treatment needs with an expert before buying. This is to make sure that the products you wish to buy are suitable for your skin, taking any individual allergies or lifestyle requirements into account.

If you haven’t ordered Environ skincare from us before, or tried a particular product, we might have to check with you first before proceeding with your order. As authorised Environ stockists, the skin experts at The Skin Clinic Direct can assess the suitability of Environ products for your skin.

To arrange a free skincare consultation, get in touch with our team by calling 01744 736170 or emailing sales@theskinclinicdirect.co.uk. If you place a first-time order without a consultation, and we are unable to verify whether the active ingredients are suitable for your skin, please be aware that we may not be able to process it. Be sure to contact us so we can fulfil your Environ skincare order.

Environ Frequently Asked Questions

Originating in South Africa, Environ has remained loyal to its birthplace despite providing skincare solutions for people all around the globe. The brand operates state-of-the-art scientific facilities in Cape Town. With ISO 9001 and ISO 22716 accreditation, Environ upholds the highest standards of quality management and current good manufacturing practices for cosmetics (cGMP).

Environ only uses the highest quality ingredients and the freshest active vitamins, ensuring that customers receive products in their most effective state. Their sterile manufacturing facilities use red light, vacuums, and air filtration to protect ingredients from exposure to light and air. Dedicated chemists use cutting-edge technology to maintain the best manufacturing practices.

The brand only begins manufacturing and marketing products after exhaustive research and testing. Every single batch undergoes testing by international independent labs to confirm its sterility and chemical contents. Environ also conducts clinical trials on human volunteers, so that a cross-section of skincare users can verify the efficacy of the formula before they begin large-scale production.

Since they use active ingredients with minimal preservatives, Environ also uses specially developed packaging to keep its formulas stable, ensuring maximum efficiency and hygiene. To reassure consumers of the safety and integrity of its products, Environ adheres to the CTFA (Cosmetic Toiletry and Fragrance Association) standards in South Africa and COLIPA (European Cosmetic and Perfumery Association) coding and labelling internationally.

If you’ve ever been to a beauty salon for aesthetic treatments, you’ve surely noticed the difference between the medical grade products the professionals use and the standard products that you can buy on the high street or in supermarkets. ‘Medical grade’ skincare contains high-strength actives and is rigorously researched and tested, with results backed up by plenty of scientific evidence.

For chronic skin conditions, such as acne, you might go to a GP to get a skincare prescription. In a similar way, you can go to a medical grade skincare supplier to buy high-strength products, but only after a consultation with a professional who is trained to know what’s best for different skin types.

Products with strong active ingredients and scientific backing, like Environ skincare, will always be more effective and better quality than the basic skincare you’ll see on store shelves. This is why it’s also more expensive, but for the higher quality and faster results, it’s worth the investment.

Basically, standard skincare has weaker formulations with short-term effects, while medical grade skincare can change how your skin behaves in the long-term. High-strength actives penetrate deeper into the skin and absorb better, enhancing skin cell activity and effectively targeting a particular issue, such as ageing or dryness. These are the kind of advanced results you can expect with Environ.

All Environ skincare is cruelty-free, but not all products are vegan-friendly. Environ has never tested their products on animals, and does not sell products in countries where animal testing is legal (such as China). The brand only sources materials from countries that comply with EU regulations.

If you’re wondering why Environ products don’t feature the ‘leaping bunny’ logo to proclaim their cruelty-free certification, this is because the widespread banning of animal testing means that these declarations on packaging are now obsolete under more recent EU Cosmetic Products Regulations.

Many Environ products are vegan, but several are not, which is why it cannot claim to be a 100% vegan brand. The following products are not vegan-friendly due to containing animal by-products:

  • Skin EssentiA Vita-Antioxidant AVST Moisturiser 1/2/3/4/5 (contains gelatin)
  • Skin EssentiA Vita-Antioxidant AVST Gel (contains panthenol)
  • Youth EssentiA Vita-Peptide C-Quence Serum 1/2/3/4/4 Plus (contains gelatin)
  • Youth EssentiA Vita-Peptide C-Quence (contains panthenol)
  • Youth EssentiA C-Quence Hydra-Intense Cleansing Lotion (contains panthenol)
  • Youth EssentiA Antioxidant Defence Crème/Crème Plus (contains panthenol)
  • Focus Care Comfort+ Colostrum Gel (contains bovine colostrum)
  • Focus Care Clarity+ Botanical Infused Sebu-Spot Blemish Gel (contains panthenol)
  • Focus Care Youth+ Tri-Peptide Complex Avance Elixir (contains lanolin)
  • Focus Care Youth+ Tri-Peptide Complex Avance Moisturiser (contains lanolin)
  • Focus Care Youth+ Concentrated Retinol Serum 1/2/3 (contains colostrum)
  • Focus Care Vita-Botanical Mela-Fade Serum A & B (contains panthenol)
  • The previous A, C, and E range was not vegan, but the Body EssentiA range that replaced it does not appear to contain animal derivatives or by-products.

Please note that this is not an extensive list – you should always check the ingredients on the product page before buying. If a product contains lactic acid or stearic acid, we unfortunately can’t guarantee that this is not animal-derived. All Environ skincare purchases are at your own discretion.

As with any skincare product from any brand, it takes time to achieve visible results with Environ. While your skin might feel smoother, softer, and more hydrated after the first application, it can take several weeks before anti-ageing effects or the reduction of hyperpigmentation become apparent.

For the best and speediest results, you must use the Environ skincare products as directed, and follow a daily routine. Consistency is the most important part, as you won’t see much progress if you don’t stick with it. Similarly, not wearing sunscreen during the day can undo all your good work.

You should establish a morning regime and evening regime with appropriate products, and follow it every day. Store products with active ingredients as directed on the packaging to prevent exposure to the air or temperature changes from deactivating them, as they will then become ineffective.

Always use up products within 10-12 weeks of opening them – don’t leave an unsealed product at the back of a bathroom cabinet then try to use it when you rediscover it a year later, because it’s not going to work. If you’re slowly increasing the strength of your skincare, such as the AVST Step-Up moisturisers, you should follow the instructions for appropriate usage period before levelling up.
